Marie Edwards Travelling Scholarship in Visual Arts, Craft and Design
Marie Edwards, a graduate of the Tasmanian School of Art, holds a unique place in the Tasmanian art scene. During her ascent in the 1970s she was one of the few women artists in the State working seriously in the area of abstraction. Her works rank her amongst Tasmania's finest women artist. She endowed this scholarship to enable postgraduate visual arts students to gain experience overseas while studying at UTAS. The scholarship can support a broad range of international projects and also assist self-funded residencies at the Rosamond McCulloch studio.
Eligibility
Available to students currently undertaking postgraduate study in visual arts, craft or design at the University of Tasmania.
The scholarship can be used to assist with self funded residencies at the McCulloch Studio in Paris (separate application form required: available from the Tasmanian School of Art, Hobart).
