The Tasmania Scholarships Program gives outstanding students significant financial
and academic support to study at the University of Tasmania. Scholarships are offered
in a wide range of disciplines and selection is based on academic merit. They are
available for students studying for degrees at undergraduate, postgraduate and research
levels.
UTAS International Travel Scholarship
The University of Tasmania has recently introduced a new program of scholarships offering financial assistance for domestic students undertaking overseas travel for a “gap year”. These scholarships will cover a range of overseas travel options, including volunteering or community-based placements and tourist travel and are valued at up to $3500 per student. The University is offering 150 of these scholarships, which will be applicable for students taking a “gap year” in 2009 after a year of study with UTAS.

Associate degrees
Commonwealth Scholarships for Associate degrees (2 years) are currently available for accommodation (CAS) and for education costs (CECS). A CAS can be awarded for students who are required to move away from home to study and are valued at $4324. A CECS is to assist with education costs and is valued at $2162.
