Academic and Financial Penalty Dates

All withdrawals after the unit census date will incur financial liability however a student may withdraw from a unit without academic penalty depending on the date of withdrawal. This table shows the withdrawal dates where financial and academic penalty may occur for the academic year.

Sub-Deans and Faculty Officers give course advice and approve enrolments and/or subsequent variations to enrolments, including advice of the rules of degree and a progress check for graduation purposes. Set consultation times are available. Outside these hours an appointment will be required.

Cross Institutional Application

The above application form is for a student from another university wishing to study a unit cross institutionally at UTas. The form must be fully completed.  A Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP form (if applicable) MUST be attached to this application. The application will not be processed if not complete.


 Utas Business students wishing to study at another institution

 Utas Science Engineering and Technology students wishing to study at another institution

 UTas student  from other faculties who wish to study at another institution

The above application form is for students from UTas wishing to study as a cross institutional student at another institution. This form must be fully complete, signed and dated. The application form is not an enrolment form for the other institution you must contact the other institution for an enrolment form.

International Leave of Absence Form

  International students who are currently enrolled may apply for a leave of absence from the enrolled degree for up to 6 months. It is recommended that students discuss their options with International Services.

Non Award Application for Enrolment

  If you wish to study units but do not want to count them towards an award you may apply to enrol as a non-award student. Your enrolment is still subject to compliance with statutes, regulations and rules and must be finalised by the census dates. This form must be fully complete, signed and dated and have the appropriate Faculty and/or School approval. This application will not be processed without these requirements and you will not be able to attend classes. Approval is from the Dean, Head of School, Faculty Executive Officers or their delegates.
