This course is designed to produce graduates who meet the professional requirements for registration with the Australian Association for Exercise and Sport Science as exercise physiologists or sport scientists. Exercise and sport scientists provide assessment, monitoring and program prescription for fitness and exercise in a diverse range of populations from the chronically ill to elite athletes.
In Years 3 and 4 students undertake practicums within a relevant professional setting.

Physical Sciences 5C, plus one other science subject (Health Studies 5C HP810, Sports Science 5C HP817, Mathematics Applied 5C (MAP5C), Mathematics Methods 5C (MME5C), Mathematics Specialised 5C (MSP5C), Biology 5C (BIO5C), Chemistry 5C (CHM5C), Physics 5C (PHY5C).

Career opportunities
|
Graduates will be eligible for membership to The Australian Association for Exercise and Sport Science. They can then apply for accreditation with AAESS as an exercise physiologist, and may be employed in hospitals, gymnasiums, and private practice as Exercise Physiologists. Graduates can also work as sport scientists with professional teams as well as State and National Sporting Academies and Institutes. They may be employable as cardiac technicians in hospitals and surgeries.
Graduates may also be able to pursue research in Exercise Science or to apply for post-graduate study in areas such as physiotherapy or rehabilitation.
