This course is a continuation of the units covered in the Diploma of Applied Science (Deck Watchkeeper) course. The course incorporates all the requirements necessary, under the STCW 95 Convention, to attain a Chief Mate's and Master's Certificate of Competency <3000GT or unlimited, issued by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

Special Requirements

- Deck Watchkeeper Certificate of Competency or an equivalent qualification;
- Sea time approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) as outlined in Marine Orders Part 3. See www.amsa.gov.au
- AMSA approved medical requirements and eyesight test;
- Students with English as a second language require an IELTS score of at least 6.0.
